Throughout my life, since I was seven, I have found that the narrow road can be difficult to follow, and yes, I have stumbled at times. Through the love and guidance of my parents, and other adult and teenage friends I have found that even though the road is hard, it is possible when done with God. While growing up in the church as a Pastor, Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor, and Music Minister’s son, (yes my dad held all those positions, even all at one time in one church), I was always in church, and like some of my fellow PKs, I don’t regret it. I loved and will always love church, being with fellow Christians is not only a commandment from God, but necessary to growing stronger with God. Though this is true, I have found that I usually end up spending my time with those who are not necessarily Christians. Some believed in God, some believed in other gods, but they all accepted that I believed what I did. Some even opened their minds enough to allow a seed to be planted. During this time, I also kept my own mind open. I have studied many different religions, beliefs, life paths, and ideals. Some would say that I am putting evil into my mind by doing this, but how can I say they are wrong if I do not know what they believe. Others say, “Because the Bible says so”, I say, “Does the Bible mention them specifically, or are you generalizing due to lack of understanding of a very large world.”

The Human languages, especially English are not perfect languages, which makes it hard to put our thoughts into coherent sentences that everyone can understand. Thus, how can anyone explain a personal life changing experience that we cannot even explain to ourselves in our own minds? I am by no means saying that every religion or belief system out there is correct, and I personally believe that the Christian belief is the one true way to Heaven, but I am not saying that Christians are the only ones who believe that way. Look at the Baptist, a Christian category of how many different denominations? Too many and why are there so many, because of disagreements that are usually over worldly problems, that will not matter after Jesus comes back, and do not matter to him now, like what color the carpet should be, who should be doing the work in the church, is this the right or wrong way to sing praises to God? Even the Jews, who got everything straight from God and Jesus, cannot agree on what is the truth and what is not. This is why I say that we cannot just say that everyone else is wrong, just because we think that they do not believe what we do, we must learn what they believe before we can say they are wrong, and to do that we must talk to them and maybe just look into their beliefs first hand. I am not saying go out and try every belief like a buffet table. Just that without knowledge and the wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit’s guidance, then we have no right to say for certain that what they believe is wrong or right.

Another topic that has been a thorn for me is my enjoyment of role-playing, yes even Dungeons and Dragons, though it is not by any means my favorite system, as I stated earlier in my hobbies. I believe that there is nothing wrong with Role Playing in general, but that some people out there have taken the games too far and have delved into the occult. Though I have researched many of the occult paths, I did not get involved in them, based on my own beliefs. A helpful link on the subject of Role Playing and the Occult is as follows.
